Nas Net Worth 2014 – 2015: $32 Million

Nas could be easily considered as one of the fathers of the rapping game, he has been a widely known and successful rapper for more than two decades, that’s almost 25 years being at the top. Nasir Jones began his rapping career back in 1991, however, his debut album “Illmatic” had to wait until 1994 in order to be released, but it was worth the wait, because the album was very well received and even acclaimed by both critics and hip hop fans all around the world, not to mention that “Illmatic” is still considered by many experts one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Nas became really rich and famous after the release of his second album titled “It Was Written”, which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts and was certified double platinum by the RIAA in less than two months after its release.

Even though Nas has sold millions of albums worlwide he hasn’t been able to keep his finances in order, in fact, according to Bloomberg’s BusinessWeek a lot of rappers are lying about their wealth, Nasir Olu Dara Jones was one of them, because he actually owed more than $6 million dollars to the IRS in 2011. BusinessWeek decided to compare the lyrical claims of a few notorious rappers with their actual net worth, Nas said he was worth $200 million, but apparently that claim was not true.

It’s kind of hard to accept the fact that Nas has rebounded spectacularly and now has more money that he can count, but apparently it is true, because according to some sources his debt has already been settled, however, the same article states that the Georgia Department of Revenue (GDR) reported that the case is still open and they’re trying to collect the money that the rapper still owes.

So, how much is Nas really worth? Well, I’m really not sure about this one to tell you the truth, some online media outlets and magazines say that he has an estimated net worth of $15 to $17 million, other sources claim that he’s worth $30 million. However, after taking into account recent information about his earnings and salary, we have come to the conclusion that he has a total fortune of $32 million dollars approximately. Keep in mind that despite the fact that he had tax issues during the last couple of years he currently serves as an associate publisher at Mass Appeal Magazine and he is also a happy owner of a Fila shoe store, so he definitely makes a lot of money.

Forbes Magazine has not ranked Nas yet on the 100 Richest Celebrities List, and they haven’t ranked him on the Hip-Hop Cash Kings list either, but if they ever do we’ll make sure to let you know about it as soon as it happens.
